Novel Research Class and the End of My Summer Vacation

I had the most wonderful class this morning hosted by Story Studio Chicago. It was part of their Summer Novel Series. I learned so much from Dionne Irving and her class on research in fiction. It’s probably one of the best craft classes I have ever taken.

My two week vacation is coming to an end and with that returning to school with all of the worries of being in contact with vaccinated and unvaccinated people (especially students). I am trying to enjoy the last few days I have left but the gloom is hanging over me.

I sent my contract in for my short story collection yesterday so it’s starting to feel real. I am going to celebrate with video games and bourbon this weekend.
