Getting Out Of My Comfort Zone
My #The100DayProject is off to a great start. I have written some really solid pieces so far… my first day’s piece was sent out into the world earlier this week and I am hoping for an acceptance - cross your fingers and toes!
I also started Kathy Fish’s Classic Fast Flash© Workshop and it’s been really amazing! Lots of great writers!
For the first couple of days, I went with my usual Hawaii + Past + Child, which is totally in my wheelhouse and I think my thing, but I thought why am I playing it safe? This is a good place to try something new or at least try it again.
My problem with writing anything outside of my usual is I feel like those pieces lack emotional resonance… If I don’t feel it, how will my reader. All I am presenting are some words on a page that someone somewhere might be engaged with…but I am hoping with Kathy’s prompts and craft lessons, I will be able to capture the same power I have in my Hawaii stories.
Also, I started another daily art challenge which has been really nice and actually relaxing. I am also planning to start daily Ukulele Aerobics on YouTube with Chad Johnson, so that will take care of part of my 100 days of ukulele too lol
Here’s to getting out of my comfort zone and creating something every day!!
