Diving Headfirst into ComiXology

About a month ago I decided to subscribe to ComiXology. I got it because I had purchased it as a present for a friend and it seemed like it had a lot of content. I have to admit it kicks Marvel’s ass.

I have had a Marvel subscription for about 4 years now and I am seriously considering cancelling it. I like Marvel. I have been a fan of the X-Men since I first read a Scarlet Witch comic in the seventh grade. But there is only so much Marvel you can read. No matter how much I love Deadpool.

Since I got ComiXology I have read so many graphic novels from popular, literary and obscure writers and artists. Just today I read “Koma” by the Croatian writer, Pierre Wazem. I think I have read about 40 volumes of graphic work. Some horrible like the misogynistic fairy tale stories to the sublimely grim “Laid Waste” by Julia Gfrorer.

If the content of this service continues to offer me popular as well as literary works, I will be very happy.

I wonder why I am okay with subscribing to a graphic narrative service but not the unlimited Kindle book or Audible’s audiobook service…Well I guess that’s something to ponder on another day.
