Slaloming in the Rain and Brain Fog
Continuing my learning to ride a motorcycle journey, I learned how to ride a figure 8 and slalom in a rain storm. It was great! Of course, I watched hours of someone doing the slalom part on YouTube (and an hour or so of the figure 8 - just in case - so glad I did) which helped prepare me mentally (and knowing the key Japanese phrases for it helped my comprehension too).
I have been “riding” for about 3 weeks now and I still can’t believe anyone would let me on a bike but I am building muscle memory and retaining a lot. I swear it’s harder to learn something new as we get older but I am trying.
Also, yesterday was the first time I felt like I was having fun. I had so much stress and pressure in my previous driving lessons because everything was new. Watching those videos really helped me.
I think because I have been so stressed about this (as well as working/thinking about my new book/branding, being in the SmokeLong Summer workshop, fundraising for AWP…) that my brain has been so foggy. I hope this will pass. I’m sure it will.
I think that’s about it for this week. Sending light and love and, as always, creativity.
