New Flash Fiction Prize and SoFloPoJo Pubs with a Side of 100 Rejections

I got back from my vacation on Monday night, rested Tuesday, and went to work on Wednesday. It’s Friday now and it feels like the longest work week ever.

I was so happy to have made the shortlist for the New Flash Fiction Prize, and although I didn’t place, it was nice to have my little homage to Yayoi Kusama published at NFFR. If you missed it, check it out here!

And right after that, South Florida Poetry Journal published my future tense, pandemic related, tiki craze micro Fantasy Island (scroll down the SoFloPoJo page to read it).

Finally, as of this morning, I received my 100th rejection for the year. It came with a side of acceptance so it’s a nice balance. I have a much healthier reaction to rejections now that I have ways to balance out my emotional turmoil and depression (and earn some money for writing stuff… that’s 10,000 yen in my rejection cup which is about $70 with the shit exchange rate lol maybe I will buy me some books on my wishlist).

Here’s to a chill weekend! I hope you all are hanging in there and taking care of yourselves! Sending light and love and creativity!
