I Took A Break

I am so shocked by how many people reached out to me about last week’s talk story Is My Writing Life Making Me Happy? - I am so grateful that my struggles with my writing and writing life resonated with so many of you. Thank you so much for reading and commenting and tweeting about it.

As the title says, I took a break. Once I turned in the first draft of my novel (don’t get too excited it’s only my plot A and it’s pretty anemic BUT IT’S DONE!!), I put all the stress and anxiety and crazy away and decided to let my brain rest. I plan to go back to it next week - I think a week or so is a good time for a recharge.

So if you need to hear this, it’s okay to take a break. The work will still be there. (I tell myself this every day. It’s a struggle.)

Do something else!

As some of you may know, I like to play video games, so I decided to play the remastered Mass Effect (it’s my first time playing it ever) and it’s been a fun dive into a very detailed and lore-rich space opera.
