The JLPT Aftermath
Took the Japanese Language Proficiency Test last Sunday. That was an experience.
It was good to do it because now I know how the test will be. I am not confident I will pass but that really wasn’t the point.
Next year I will take a higher level for which I purchased books that have absolutely no English in them (I had no idea), so studying for the next level will definitely be a challenge.
Ultimately, it is the learning that matters and I have been living here too long without working on my fluency.
My personal opinion about the experience is that people were way too rude and behaved very inappropriately for a test taking situation. I wish that it were possible to take the test without dealing with all of that but it’s definitely ‘shoganai’ - beyond my control.
