Nom Season, a Collab And Selling My Art
It’s that time of the year again. Nominations are rolling in, especially for the Pushcart Prizes. I know that we all want to be recognized for all of our hard work creating art and putting it out in the world.
Even I feel a twinge of “where’s my nomination” anxiety and depression - I know this is a shitty way to feel but for me I think of it as part of our writing life. I feel the same when I get rejections when others get acceptances at the same journals. I think it’s important to acknowledge these feelings, deal with them, and move on.
So here I am celebrating the places that not only accepted my work but also nominated it!
Thank you so much to
Five South for nominating “Or Else” for Best Microficition.
Cheap Pop Lit for nominating “Oceans under Threat Like Never Before” for Best Small Fictions.
The Hennepin Review for nominating “All Wisdom Is Not Taught in Your School” for Best of the Net.
Newfound for nominating “Relax Said the Nightman” for Best of the Net.
I am very grateful to all of the journals and literary magazines that published my work this year. You all are amazing!!
I would also like to celebrate my recently published collaboration with Cherry Lou Sy in Harpy Hybrid Review - “Exquisite Corpse of the Night Woman.” We actually created this for that recent collaboration call from a journal I don’t follow or support. I am glad we found the perfect home for it. Cherry is an amazing writer. Her lyricism is gorgeous and awe inspiring.
Finally, I am hoping to open a store here for the art I created for my books as well as some of the doodles I do on Instagram. I have a few mock ups of tote bags, a wine tumbler, a water bottle, etc. I am not sure how it will go but I figured why not try.
I want to thank Abigail Stewart for the inspiration! Her article in Write or Die Tribe - 4 Tips for Opening Your Own Author Merch Store was a fun and informative read.
As always, I want to leave you all with light and love and creative vibes!
