Moving Forward

I completed my #the100dayproject on Monday. I think I was very successful in writing a flash story or at least the start of a flash story every day. The daily practice of focusing on my writing and having prompts to reference and workshops to participate in and awesome people to work with have all been really good for me and for my writing.

Out of the 100 days, I had five pieces published so far with another eight for this summer and possibly fall. So I guess I will take that 13 percent success rate. I hope to have more published but we will see…. so many rejections. I think I have had a rejection or two per day this week already.

I did have one awesome acceptance for a ghost story I wrote for a contest (which was rejected pretty quickly) in the new Hungry Ghost Project! So I will always take the win of publication.

I have decided to continue my daily practice with another 100 day challenge except this challenge will be more balanced. Every day, I have something scheduled to do - editing, flash, cnf, short story. As before, I will do what I can every day. Changing as I need. Adjusting to my mood, schedule, life…. I also will participate in the 1000 words of summer and work on a new novel. I got plans. I am definitely moving forward.

As always, I am still doing all my other daily challenges - ukulele, running, yoga, art, so let’s hope I don’t feel overwhelmed by it all.
