Doing the #30DayUkeSongChallenge

I started this challenge in the beginning of October (I know I am late) and it has been fun and stressful but mostly fun. It’s hosted by an amazing and very chill teacher, Bernadette.

Even though I have been playing the ukulele since I was a child, I have maintained my basic amateur status this entire time. So I decided to try to finally level up my skills.

I have really enjoyed Bernadette’s teaching style. It’s almost like practicing yoga. She is so calm and reassuring. There is an entire facebook group called Ukelandia based on her students and her fans. I actually discovered her through joining that group. I had seen her videos before on YouTube but hadn’t known about her other social media outlets.

I am about halfway through the challenge. There has been a lot of picking and chucking which I haven’t really done before. My ukulele knowledge is mainly basic Hawaiian chords and songs with whatever pop songs I am or was interested in thrown in.

I have never really been a disciplined musician but I am hoping to be better.
